For the love of adventure

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single breath.

Every four days a child is diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, facing a future of daily challenges.

Next March, a dedicated group of volunteers will take on their own challenge, to help those kids breathe a little easier, by climbing the 2000m summit Mt Hope in New Zealand. It’s called, the Trek for Life.  Each team member will pay their own way to New Zealand, and raise funds and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis Queensland.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the most common life threatening genetic condition in Australia. There is no cure. Cystic Fibrosis Queensland’s philosophy is a simple promise – “For the love of life”. CFQ is dedicated to providing high quality care and services to children and young adults living with CF and their families. To allow them to explore their lives fully while having access to the equipment and services they need to support their hopes.

New Zealand’s stunning wilderness provides the perfect backdrop to this quest for life. Every step and each breath taken will be a tribute to the daily struggle of Queenslanders affected by cystic fibrosis.
